After swapping-out last month’s masthead for this month’s masthead, I scrolled down the front page of this website and realized my last few photo posts have all been photos of, well, me. Um...yeah...so that feels a little awkward. Then again, my kids have been known to fart inside elevators full of people so this whole my-mug-on-my-blog-awkward-feeling probably won’t last that long.

Yesterday, Heidi and I went to the pediatrician's office for her annual check-up. After her pediatrician, Dr. K, weighed her and made sure her joints involuntarily move when you hit them with a rubber mallet [and phew -- they do!], she asked me questions about Heidi's cognitive and physical development and then she turned the questioning to Heidi.

Dr. K: Heidi, what is your favorite vegetable?
Pause.
Heidi: Apples.
Dr. K: Okay Heidi, then what is your favorite GREEN vegetable?
Pause.
Heidi: Green apples.
Dr. K: Awww so cute! You don’t mind if I tell my husband about that? I won’t use your daughter’s name or anything. I wouldn’t do anything to compromise her privacy.
Ahem.

I realize that in the past couple of weeks I’ve posted two cat videos and zero dog videos. And wow, some of you really don’t like cats...your emails have made this crystal clear! Your emails have also made me wonder if there's a larger contingency of people reading this blog than I had originally imagined who drive around with their pooches on their laps and carry their little doggies in designer purses. ...Continue Reading »
