The Cat - Mocha

So last night, Lexi asked if we could adopt a second cat which is ironic given yesterday's post about our living-room killing fields. The timing of her question has me feeling conflicted because: 1] Anyone who read yesterday's post knows I'm not thrilled at the prospect of living with another animal and 2] I'm glad to know she isn't reading my blog.

Then there's this video. Because you guys haven't already gotten your fill of puss... I mean cats here this week, I've decided to throw in a talking cat video. [You thought I was going to use the 'P' word didn't you? Hey listen, I said I was glad to know my kid isn't reading my blog, not that she won't be reading my blog. Got to keep it clean for the kids. At least the reading ones.]

Postscript: For the foreseeable future I'm going to go light on the cat postings. Consider it something you can put in your 'Things I'm Thankful For This Thanksgiving.' I wasn’t entirely sure whether or not to write this post. But then I thought, you guys are adults. You understand that life isn’t all rainbows and lap dogs in designer bags. I can give it to you straight. And if I’m wrong, well then, I guess a few of you will probably make a mini throw-up in your mouth.

The 'Mocha the Cat' saga continues! She’s still wearing the cone on her head. Initially, we had thought she’d been wounded on a single occasion and then continued to re-open her wound. But alas, we figured out that she’s been getting into cat fights with the local neighborhood cats. So...in an attempt to keep her around for awhile longer, we’ve decided to revert her back into her original pet status: 'Mocha the Indoor Cat'.

But my God, her paws are noisy on the counter tops and tables! Also, it's not too early to start thinking about winter. Therefore, we have ordered a couple sets of Kitten Mittons!!, which are sold exclusively at Paddy's Pub.
