It only rained a few times while we lived in the beach house. Unfortunately, it flooded each time.

In this case it flooded the second story. Every room was awash with a mixture of water, hair brushes, sandals, toys, and other unmentionables. Also, garbage. Garbage left on the floor, or garbage that Heidi had been pulled out of the trash.
[Heidi doesn't differentiate between a basket of toys and a basket of bathroom trash.]
Luckily, the beach house was concrete, and resembled a porcelain tub with a roof. Once the storm had passed, Ben spent an hour, or so, squeegeeing water into the drain holes on the bathroom floors. I had suggested we force the landlord suck-up the water with a straw since he still hadn't fixed the leaky roof. Ben thought the squeegee would be more efficient.
Making a big "W" on my forehead with my fingers. [I'm looking at you Ben.]
