It’s not as if I see the glass half empty, or half full.

It’s more like I see the glass with a crack down it‘s side; leaving a ring on the tabletop. So you can call me a pessimist, but I just can’t foresee a week kicked-off with coning our cat’s neck heading in a favorable direction.
Really though -- thanks for your concern -- but she’s fine. It’s just a scratch. We think she must have gotten it outside in some kind of cat "street fight."
GASP!
Yes, we let our cat go outside. It’s not like we’re neglectful and cruel. We merely think domestic cats are as entitled to a little fresh air and sunshine, as much as the next dog.
Anyway, something gave her a good scratch on the tail, and every time the thing heals up and scabs over, she insists on licking it off.
