We stopped for gas yesterday [not at BP]. While Ben was filling up the tank, the girls and I sat and waited and people watched. Then the following conversation transpired:
Whitney: MOMMY! Look! That daddy is wearing socks with his sandals!
Me: Ah-huh.
Whitney: Why?
Me: I don’t know Whit, I guess he just likes how it feels.
Whitney: Do you like how it feels?
Me: No.
Whitney: Then why would he?
Me: Because different people like different things.
Whitney: Do you think he likes how they look together?
Me: Maybe.
Whitney: Do you?
Me: No.
Whitney: I don’t understand why he’s wearing socks with his sandals.
Me: You are wise past your years young grasshopper.
Whitney: What does “wise” mean?
Me: Hey Ben...how’s that Grand Canyon of a gas tank coming along?

i admire your restraint.
lol... so cute! I have a son about to turn 3, so funny the stuff they pick up on.
I love this age. Molding their little minds. We can put an end to sock and sandal wearing one child at a time:)
