Morning predictability

Every morning, Ben sits facing north at the dining room table and checks his email.

If you've emailed Ben past his bedtime, he'll likely read your email the following morning, in his north facing chair, sipping coffee. Personally, I think the combination of the coffee with the chair's bouncy cushion helps move along his other morning routine. [Don't be embarrassed Ben, we all do it. Well, maybe not all of us.]

Coffee and email and facing north; this is his predictable part. His unpredictable part involves listening to alt-country music [also one of his irritating parts]. The whole listening to alt-country music thing was never disclosed on the onset of our marriage. And I mean fine, you can "forget" [with air quotes] to tell me you'll insist on using the glove compartment to store a year's worth of business receipts, but filling up the iPod with alt-country...what kind of deviant are you?

His predictability is bound to cause some trouble. Everyone knows you shouldn't drive the same route to work every morning or nap in your car in the same parking lot every lunch hour. It's simple personal Safety 101 people. So, I've warned him he'd had better start changing up his routine; otherwise the stalkers children will know where to find him.

Well Ben, don't tell me I didn't warn you.

UPDATE: I have since shaken things up a bit. Now, on occasion, I face west since it offers a much better view of the lake - but my preference is still to face north. Must be an internal compass sort of thing.
