Don't tell her she looks happy!
She's been working really hard at sullen and surly lately, and I just wouldn't want her to think she's failing. It's important to foster a positive self-image at this age.

You take THE BEST pictures!!! What camera do you use?
Thanks Allison! I shoot with a Nikon D40 and started using an add-on Nikon Speedlight SB-600 in the last year and that's made all the difference. I wish Nikon just paid me to say that, but they didn't!
Crouching down on the ground, hyperventilating in a brown bag when I think about my now 6 year old being 13. SCARY! Cool pic by the way!
HAHA! But in 7 years mine will have made it through and I'll root you on! Or, not because it killed me.
Is she your oldest? My oldest will be 14 in a few months, and dealing with his moods is worse than a PMS'ing woman. I don't even want to think of how it will be when my daughter reaches that age. I'll be getting my own place.
HORMONES!
What a good mother you are! I too am a mother of a sullen and surly girl and appreciate you reminding me how to be a better parent!
Woman, you are in a world of trouble if you try "parenting-up" by my example:)
Your blog is such pretty eye candy. Pictures are great. Header is great. I really like it.
That is all :)
Thanks chica!
ah, screw the happy... rock the fact that you captured a FANTASTIC shot of your child because that is one photo that i wish i were skilled enough to take.
Me too! Ahem, Ben would like me to remind everyone that he took the shot [forgot to mention that]. So what!? He's the one that leaves his socks on the floor so I say we're even!
hehehe.
God! That jumping photo is crazy good! (I'd demand a photo credit on that one too.)
You and Ben can duke it out!
Ummm are those uggs spring loaded or something? For real she's like practically touching the moon. I want me some of them uggs. Do they come with a "i hate my manager shit kicking" feature? Cause that would be awesome
No but they may come with a, "I think my parents are old dorks feature."
Who is that?! That cannot possibly be Lexi Lulu. The sweet little 2 year old I have loved all these almost 13 years... impossible...
Also, don't call her sweet. She doesn't like that either!
It's been brought to my attention that I forgot to give photo credits. I'm not going say who called me out on this except that this is the same person who forgets to pick-up his socks. Just saying. [Photo credits to Ben-my prince charming.]
Tell me she just jumped from a trampoline because she looks like she's 15 ft off the ground.
No, just a bouncy driveway.
