2011 rolled in like a Trojan horse, all bedazzled, and shiny, and new with hope. Thennnn...the secret door lowered, reality marched out and threw a pie in my face. How unexpected! Welcome to my 2011. How's yours going?
[Edit to post: Thanks for all your concern and well wishes everybody. I'm actually doing quite fine! I wrote this post on my way out the door and didn't give it a whole lot of thought. All I was trying to say is that reality has set in, as it always does the week after New Years. Reality isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Also, I realize that this explanation is a lot like explaining a joke: if you have to explain it you shouldn't have told it! And now this postscript to the post is longer than the post.

I won't lie...I was feeling all rainbows and glitter poots after the holiday...then on Monday my manager was all "Kim, you didn't do shit over the holidays did you? Those reports were due before New Years"

Never take posts down, think of all the new posts you can write to explain the ambiguous post. It could go on for months!
I don't know you too well, yet, so I'll tread carefully.
Just so you know, if you ever want to email me or anything: I get some pretty heavy depression that begins in January and just about kills me.

My philosophy on 2010 is this: I'm pretty damn glad to see it go. And toddlers have no patience for self indulgence. Which is a good thing because it's keeping me out from under the covers. I hope your year gets better.
2011 is the same as 2010 and will probably be the same for me in 2012! The good and the bad. My reality isn't bad, it's just reality!

It's not that my reality is bad... Lately we've had several things HAPPEN that I'd certainly qualify as bad. I find my self just trying to keep it all together. And this season never fails to get to me at its best.... I am a spring/summer person. though I'd never go as far as to say I feel comfortable in bathing suit. Give me sunshine. And warm.
I'd say mine is about the same as your's. Feeling for you and hoping the dark skies clear soon.
