'They' wouldn't do it if it wasn't safe

We found this down by our shoreline Friday afternoon. Thus prompting a river of expletive diarrhea to come shooting forth from Ben’s mouth.

Evidently, our neighbors to the north paid someone to dump weed killer into the water between our pier and their pier. Ben, chill...I’m sure it’s safe. I mean ‘they’ don’t let people do things in the water that aren’t safe, right?

Anyway, it’s not like pesticides can seep beyond imaginary “one-hundred foot boundaries” or anything.

I'm pretty much speechless on this. Who knew that a dispersant put into free flowing water would stay within the confines of arbitrary boundaries?

I know! Craziest thing! But according to the official sign, the chemicals DO stay within the boundaries.

The sign makes me wonder if the herbicide is legal. It probably is; it's like the signs on the neighbors' lawns after the lawn services come through. The big difference here is that the chemicals spread through the water; it's non-point pollution at its worst.

From another Wisconsin blogger, I wish you a fast dispersal of the weed killer and peace of mind for your family.

It is legal! Well at least according to the person who Ben spoke with at the DNR. You just need a permit.
