We arrived into Merida, Mexico late on a Friday evening...

...having traveled nine hours from Dallas, then to Houston, and finally to our destination. I'd traveled alone with Heidi [1] Whitney [3] and Lexi [11] while Ben, and our friend Melody, drove from Dallas to Merida separately.
The exhaustion that followed was weighty enough to knock out two toddlers, who's gears are usually stuck in 4x4 mode.
