I just downloaded some old favorites that I haven't heard since forever ago. Mostly, they're tracks off of girl band albums. I think it's funny the way we call groups with one or more female band members "girl bands." Much in the same way that we call movies with casts, which are predominately female, "chick flicks," or women bloggers, who happen to be mothers, "mommy bloggers."
Now, I've gone and worked myself up thinking about the way women are portrayed in the media. I must be getting my period.
[This first one is a little on the cusp...NSFW? The rest should be safe for work as long as you won't get fired for watching music videos there!]

Ruthie Morris (Magnapop's guitar player) is truly one of the most talented live musicians I've ever had the chance to see perform. We (Meredith and I) were fortunate to see them open for Sugar, one of the best bands in music history, formed by Bob Mould of Husker Du, who also produced Magnapop's Hot Boxing album.
This concludes my completely biased music history lesson for the day.
